Find Out More In Person
Attend a local or regional meeting, meet PDCA Members, take part in contractor education programs, and see how PDCA " Add Value to Your Business".

Councils and Specialty Forums
These groups serve as a bridge between National PDCA and PDCA Chapters for the flow of information. Councils are organized by states or regions of the country. Specialty Forums include Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Excellence in Craftsmanship. Councils can act as your advocate with state government agencies that affect your business. Some Councils also hold regional conventions and trade shows. Both Councils and Specialty Forums organize outstanding seminar opprtunities.

PDCA Chapters
In cities and local areas served by active Chapters, you have the opportunity to meet locally and solve common problems, discuss business concerns, and work together toward industry goals as a unified group. Chapters conduct many educational, business, and networking sessions to advance your business: adding value and profitability.

National PDCA

To become a member of a Council, Chapter, or Specialty Forum you must be a National PDCA Member. PDCA's supply chain to members includes distribution of educational programs and products to the Council, Chapter and Forum network.
As the voice of the professional contractor, PDCA's departments of Government Affairs, Publications, Technical Services, PACE, PDCA's Annual
Convention Education Programming and Paint and Paper Pro Show, and PDCA Contractors College and Accreditation program all provide services that benefit you and that add value to your business.

How Local Chapters, State & Regional Councils, and Specialty Forums "Add Value to Your Business"

Networking on a face-to-face basis with other contractors, talking about common problems and sharing experiences.

Being part of a support group that cares about your growth as an industry professional; later, you give back to other professionals.

Forming enduring friendships, both professionally and personally.

Involving yourself in "Specialty Communities" with other contractors and suppliers - Residential, Commercial, Industrial, & Excellence in Craftsmanship.

Receiving Chapter, Council, and Specialty Forum newsletters aimed at covering topics and events of relevance to your market.

Participating in insurance programs that can save substantial dollars.

Attending Council conventions with excellent speakers, exhibits, and information from professionals in the region.

Getting to know more about your suppliers, new and old (who attend and often host local meetings), to exchange information.

Getting referral business from other PDCA Members who are busy, or whose expertise is different than what that client needs.

Listening to local speakers at Chapter meetings on various business topics that will add value to your business. Topics may include a banker on loan programs, an accountant on tax issues, an attorney on contract "do's and don'ts" or an expert on estimating.

Picking up a tip that can save you $1200 on your next job because an experienced contractor shared an idea on estimating, inventory, etc..

Learning more about "a business of running a business" (you are an expert on painting, but how about managing a business?).

Figuring out how to develop a "road map" for the success and growth of your company - from marketing to management tools.

Discovering opportunities for leadership (Chapters need new leaders!) and being involved in community service projects.

Participating in a local study group that will take you on your way to national certification (a significant competitive advantage).

Banding together "for the good fight" when adverse legislative or regulatory proposals come along: working together to win.

Promoting good practices, so that less-than-ethical operators are less likely to thrive in those areas with strong PDCA Members.

Finding out how to enter and succeed in awards competitions, which can bring public notice and add value to your business.

On the local marketing level, being able to use the PDCA logo and show that you stand out from non-member competitors.
