Sally Kennerson has been hired as the new Education Manager for PDCA. She is thrilled to be here and is ready to work hard on the Contractor College and Accreditation Programs.
A Native of Colorado, Sally moved to St Louis in December of 2009. She has previous non-profit experience as an Executive Director for a Chamber & Tourism Bureau and was the Project Manager for the website www.OneMine.org. One Mine is a global effort to form a single source digital library for all of the world’s mining, metallurgy and exploration documents.
Sally is a veteran of the United States Air Force and the mother of three boys, one of whom is serving in the Army in Afghanistan. She is engaged to a Lt. Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and enjoys spending time with her three bulldogs, Daisy, Pepper and JR. Currently, Sally attends St Louis Community College to complete her degrees in Human Resources and Business Administration. In addition, she holds a certification in Graphic Design.

PDCA is pleased to announce that the 2011 Painting & Decorating Expo website is now LIVE! Information regarding accommodations, tentative schedules and other information is now available thru www.paintinganddecoratingexpo.com. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams have signed on as Signature Sponsors of the Expo! Each company will be hosting an evening event during the Expo for all attendees and their families.
Online registration will open on October 1st. Once registration opens, additional content will be available on this site. Leadership Training will be held on Thursday, March 3rd. If you are interested in attending the Leadership Training in conjunction with the Expo, please contact leadership@pdca.org for more details.

ATTENTION ALL PDCA LEADERS!
PDCA is hosting the 2010 Leadership Training in Baltimore, MD on November 19th and 20th. The event will be held at the Holiday Inn BWI Hotel and Conference Center. Training will start at 1:00pm on Friday, November 19th and conclude at 3:00pm on Saturday, November 20th. This schedule should allow leaders to arrive on Friday and depart on Saturday evening. Current and upcoming Council and Chapter leaders are strongly encouraged to attend this training.
30 Scholarships Available - Include Registration & Hotel
PDCA is offering 30 Scholarships for 2010 Leadership Training. The scholarships are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and includes Registration ($99 value) and reimbursement for a 1-night stay at the host hotel. Those who attend under a scholarship will only be responsible for their travel costs after their hotel is reimbursed. Please watch for further information. PDCA is gearing up for the Painting & Decorating Expo in Orlando, FL. Last week PDCA traveled to Orlando for a second site visit of the Swan and Dolphin Hotel and Resort. During the site visit, meeting rooms, event spaces and the trade show floor was visited. Staff met with various departments of the hotel to discuss details of the upcoming 2011 Painting & Decorating Expo from February 27 - March 2, 2011. Two leaders from the Florida State Council joined PDCA Staff on the property to give input from a members perspective. Intensive planning is underway internally to provide PDCA members with an excellent Education Program and Trade Show.

All PDCA Unit (Forum, Council, Chapter) leaders are encouraged to attend the Leadership training event planned for Sunday Morning February 7th from 8am to Noon. This half-day program will cover recruiting basics, PDCA National support resources and more. Special convention registration offerings will be available to Leaders who attend the training program and the full convention. More details will be made available when they are complete. Until then plan to join in at the convention.

PDCA National has created official branded logos for all Units (Forums, Councils, and Chapters). These are available in three styles, each in three formats. Unit leaders should use these logos on all of their marketing and promotional materials. Consistent use of these logos across all Unit materials will help to reinforce PDCA’s National brand image.
